Pages for this project
From SplameiPlay 5.2 Particle, projects are required to disclose how Generative AI was used within projects. This page is here to help you understand what each disclosure type is and what our requirements for disclosure are.
You can see the disclosure type for projects under the notices box, next to the report and fave buttons.
Generative AI disclosures won’t show on versions older then 5.2 Particle
The project distributors are responsible for reporting the Generative AI disclosure. It may be inaccurate or false.
Projects that don’t fit any of these disclosure types don’t need to disclose AI usage. The types are listed in order of the lowest type to the highest. Projects should disclose the highest rated disclosure type they meet.
AI Assisted
Projects marked as AI assisted means Generative AI was used to assist within the creation of the project. This is only ever less then half of the project (up to 50%), so the remaining majority was made by a human. This could be AI code completions or placeholder data.
This doesn’t apply to very early placeholder assets and concept art that were last included within the project and its builds at least 8 months before release (this includes other store-fronts and distributions) and we’re not intended to be the final assets of the project. Generative AI generated placeholder assets that were accidentally included after the threshold do need to be disclosed with the correct type, regardless of them being accidentality included. Assets and concept art derived from AI generated assets and concept art do need to be disclosed as AI Assisted.
AI Modified
Projects marked as AI Modified means the project was made already, fully, or partially, by someone, then modified, in any way, by Generative AI. This may be to add new content using existing content, fix bugs or issues, fix security issues or change existing content. This doesn’t apply when the modified content is up to 100 lines of code, other assets are not exempt.
This also includes AI deepfakes or images of real people, who’s proportions or outfit has been changed by Generative AI.
AI Made
Projects marked as AI Made means Generative AI made most of, if not all, of the project with, or without human input. Even if a project was made by just a little bit more Generative AI than humans, it still requires this disclosure type.
This ignores how Generative AI was used. Even if it was used to create, modify or enhance existing content, if AI created or modified more then 50% of the project, this disclosure type must be used.
